Andrew Barrett grew up in Perth, Scotland.
Since receiving his training at the Royal Conservatoire of Scotland and the Lecoq Lees Studios in Paris, he pursued a career in international theatre. He has performed classical texts in France, Taiwan and Belgium.
In 2013 he premiered a play in Sulamaniyah, in the Kurdish part of Northern Iraq, where he ran acting and creative writing workshops at the local high school.
Andrew worked in dozens of refugee camps across five countries in Europe in 2016, using his skills as a professional clown and musician to bring circus, magic and music to the thousands of unaccompanied children held there.
Since moving to New York in January 2017, he has lent his voice to the statue of Robert Burns in Central Park as part of the Talking Statues installation, and continues to work in classical theatre, as Puck and Cassio in Shakespeare & Company's 2018 touring productions of A Midsummer Nights Dream and Othello.
Most recentlyh he made his Off-Broadway debut as Mark Renton in Trainspotting Live at the Roy Arias Stages, which ran for over six months from 2018-2019.
